To make a crepe paper sunflower, it is important to gather all the necessary supplies and materials beforehand. You will need the following materials:

• Crepe paper 140gsm or 180gsm (Italian Crepe paper)
• Floral wire 16 gauge green, brown and yellow
• Floral tape
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Marker pen

Once you have gathered all the necessary supplies, you can begin creating your beautiful crepe paper sunflower.

Step-by-step guide to making crepe paper sunflower

Now gather the ingredients and start doing it.

Step 1: Cutting petals

Cut a brown piece of crepe paper with a length of 23cm and widths of 1.7cm, 2.3 cm, and 3.3 cm, respectively. Then, trim the sawtooth and roll each layer to the end. Do the same with the golden crepe paper size (3.6cm * 23cm) and paste in turn to create a complete pistil. Spread glue on the finished pistil on the finished paper sunflower base.

First cut the pieces of crepe paper with a size of 4 inches x 5 inches (8cmx13cm). Then cut diagonally to make 2 half triangles.

Flip one plate over so that the vertical line of the paper is directed from bottom to top. Attach 2 halves together and cut into petal shape.

We will use crayons to color on the petals. Use the hand to pull the edge of the petals a little to create softness. We need 6 petals for a Lily Paper Flower. The petals can be all the same size or vary slightly in size for  more natural look.

Step 2: Making the stamens and pistil of the Lily Paper Flower

In this step, Camellia Bees show you the ways to make the stamens for the flower by folding the wire into a small hook, then wrapping floral tape around the thread.

About the pistil of the paper lily, we use 3 small wires, fold small hooks, attach 3 of them together and then use yellow tape to wrap around cluster.

Continue making stamens and pistils. This part is easy but expressing in images is a bit difficult so you can watch the video. We have 1 pistil and 6 stamens for 1 Paper Lily Flower.

Step 3: Making the Lily Paper FLower’s stem and leaves

Cut a strip of green craft paper for the stem. The length is up to you, but about 12-18 inches (30-45 cm) works well.

For the leaves, we cut 2 green crepe paper in to rectangular shape, then cut a diagonal line at the center of the rectangular.

After that, we have 4 pieces. Then we stick 2 pieces together by hot glue. Finally, we cut them into leave shape so we will have 2 leaves.

Attach the leaves and flowers’ petals to the stem, then we wrap the stem with green floral tape.

So we will have a beautiful, bright lily flower from crepe paper.
